NASA has mandated that SLS will be the backbone of Project Artemis. If we want to get back to the Moon by 2024 then we need to commit to hardware now, so SLS is it. (Other aspects of Project Artemis will be supported by commercial launch providers.) This is the time to β€œstrike the anvil” since this is backed by the President and most of Congress, so we need to keep the momentum going. If you are a US citizen please consider writing (email is fine) your Representative and Senators expressing your support for Project Artemis. If you are not a US citizen please consider petitioning your government to join the effort.

Here’s a good summary of Project Artemis: NASA Moon and Mars

Ad Astra

" In response to President Trump’s charge to return Americans to the Moon by 2024, engineers and technicians revised the core stage assembly plan to mate the individual structures horizontally rather than vertically. These milestones β€” combined with new production tools and the team’s responsiveness β€” keep core stage production on track for completion by the end of the year."
